NETGEAR products go through vigorous testing and certification processes in every aspect of regulatory compliance, including but not limited to electro-magnetic compatibility (EMC), safety, wireless and telecom. NETGEAR follows applicable laws, directives, standards and industries regulations. Products are accordingly marked and in compliance with, but not limited to, Federal Communication Commission (FCC) standards, European Union Directives (CE Mark), Japan's VCCI, Australia's RCM and others countries marking's requirements. Certificates, test reports and declarations of conformity are kept on record and available upon request.

Corporate Environmental Compliance team conducts relevant testing at significant third party manufacturing locations at least once a year. Environmental laws restricting the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment are now in effect around the world, with countries continuing to add their own legislation to the environmental landscape. NETGEAR is committed to meeting these requirements. In order to be successful in this commitment, it is imperative that our suppliers are also committed to supporting NETGEAR's efforts toward RoHS and REACH compliance.

NETGEAR has contracted the industry’s leading materials database and services provider to work with our suppliers in collecting component information for NETGEAR. This information includes, but is not limited to:

>    Correct orderable part numbers
>    Component lifecycle status
>    RoHS compliance information including certificates of compliance
>    Full disclosure of material composition
>    REACH SVHC certificates
>    Conflict Minerals RBA Forms

This not only facilitates assessing Environmental Compliance with respect to chemical and substance restriction, but it also makes us more responsive to customer inquiries and regulators.
Conflict Minerals

In August 2012, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued final rules for companies that use certain “conflict materials” including tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold, in its products. We are working closely with our suppliers, and are in the process of assessing compliance with the SEC rules.
